Energy Analysts - Great Britian

My client, an Energy infrastructure company, are growing their operations and has requirements for a number of experienced Energy Market Analysts within the UK. We are looking for CANDIDATES who wish to learn and develop their career in the energy sector. The correct candidate should have at least one year of experience in the energy sector, particularly in the wholesale power market in Great Britain.

The opportunity is to join the Commercial & Operations department and assist in delivering and operating market operations. The commercial & operations function is responsible for the day-to-day market operations of the asset. These roles report to the Commercial Manager.  

Candidate Requirements 

Background 

• At least one year of energy market experience in either ISEM or GB (both beneficial) 

• Experience of working in a European energy trading and/or operations discipline 

• Knowledge of the wider European Energy Sector 

• Knowledge of National Grid Electricity System Operator services, codes, operations, and forums 

• Knowledge of NATIONAL / Eirgrid services, codes, operations, and forums 

• Knowledge of Uniform Network Code, Grid Code and REMIT 

• Knowledge of regulatory environment in ISEM and GB 

Qualifications & Behaviours 

• Have a relevant primary degree (for example, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics or similar). 

• Competency across a broad range of IT packages required, i.e., Advanced MS Excel skills (macros, pivot tables etc), SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, R studio, AWS etc. 

• Be diligent with an attention to detail. 

• Be flexible and eager to learn. 

• Able to work as part of a focused team but also willing to take their own initiative. 

• Highly analytical individual. 

• Ability to form well founded ideas and communicate them to the wider team. 

Further Details  

• Competitive package negotiable depending on experience. 

• Based in the UK with a hybrid working policy. 

• Some travel required (predominately between Ireland & GB).
