My client an Energy Asset Company have a new role coming up for a Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for their Energy Division, Dublin based / hybrid model 

This key role will implement and monitor safe working practices and procedures in accordance with legislation, while ensuring a sustained culture of Health and Safety is embedded across our teams.

Responsibilities Day-to-day, here’s what your new role would look like:

EHS Compliance • Ensure legal compliance with HSA and HSE regulations by regular review of our HSE Management System, and communication of changes as necessary. • Drafting and implementation of comprehensive policies, procedures, and safety rules. • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant HSE legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business. • Liaise with the Health and Safety Authority / Health & Safety Executive and Environmental Protection Agency / Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) as required. Inspections and Audits • Carry out risk assessments across the sites and consider how risks could be reduced. • Carry out routine inspections and site audits and ensure all corrective actions are tracked and closed out in a timely manner. EHS Reporting • Ensure that all incidents are reported, recorded and investigated and that suitable corrective measures are put in place. • Record incidents and accidents and produce reports recommendations and / or statistics to best industry practice. • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards. • Ensure that contractor project specific Health & Safety plans, risk assessments and method statements are reviewed for all work. • Be familiar with the duties of Clients, Project Supervisor Design Stage, Principal principal designer, Project Supervisor Construction Stage and Principal Contractor in relation to construction projects. Team Collaboration • Assist with EHS responsibilities in other parts of the business as required.

What you’ll need: • A third level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, NEBOSH or similar. • Experience in a similar Environment Health and Safety role in a construction environment. • Demonstrable experience of carrying out risk assessments and site audits. • Demonstrable experience of EHS reporting. • Experience in the management of construction contractors in relation to Health and Safety practices. These help decide between those who meet all the above criteria: • Experience working on construction projects in the Renewables industry. • Demonstrable experience of managing PSCS and / or PSDP roles. • Accident / Incident investigation experience. • Full driving license
